Intake Manifold Porting
Horsepower is all about combination. So why would you install an as cast manifold to your high flow CNC ported cylinder heads? Once a manifold is attached to a head air sees it as one flow path. So where now is the restriction?
Manifolds are tricky to port and get effective results. Things that need to be taken into account
- Port and Plenum Volume
- Runner Length and Tapper
- Port to Head Transition Angle
- Runner Bell Mouth Radius
These all have to be matched to engine size, RPM and intended use.
Manifolds are flow tested before and after. A four holed transition plate is used to better replicate the airflow path in the plenum for carbureted applications. Stage 3 Manifolds are flowed with a head when possible.
At SWAS I am committed to giving you the competitive edge. It takes a 101 things to win a race. Let my 15 years porting experience help you find that final thing.
